Preguntas frecuentes

¿Cómo denuncio contenido o bloqueo a alguien?

Frequently asked

Why does Traza ask for my location?

To record your ride. While a recording is running, Traza keeps using GPS with the screen locked or another app in front, so the ride doesn't stop when you lock the phone, take a call or use navigation. iOS shows the location indicator the whole time.

Without a recording running, Traza doesn't use your location unless you turn on the driving alert (next question). Before recording and on the segments map it only uses it to show where you are, without storing it.

"Always" permission is only needed for the driving alert.

What is the driving alert?

It's an optional reminder so you don't forget to record: Profile ▸ Settings ▸ Recording ▸ Remind me to record. It only works if you turn it on: in that setting, during onboarding, or by linking a Bluetooth device (your helmet intercom or car stereo) to a vehicle in your garage, which turns it on.

It can alert you when that Bluetooth device connects or when it detects that you're driving. To notice you're driving it uses, even with the app closed, iOS low-power background location and your phone's motion sensors; that's why it asks for "Always" location and motion permission. Everything is processed on your phone: nothing is sent to our servers and no ride is recorded until you start the recording.

If the alert arrives while you're driving, don't touch your phone: deal with it once you've stopped somewhere safe. You can turn it off at any time in the same setting.

How much battery does it use?

While recording, Traza uses GPS at full accuracy and the motion sensors, so it uses about as much battery as a navigation app. On long rides, keep the phone charging on its mount.

To save battery: if you stop for a while (about 45 seconds), the recording pauses on its own and stops reading the sensors, and if you pause it yourself GPS stops too. In Profile ▸ Settings ▸ Recording you can turn off "Ride telemetry" (then only the GPS route is stored) and, if you use the driving alert, the "On driving detected" option, which uses background location and drains more.

If you notice unusual drain, email hello@gettraza.com with your iPhone model and the length of the ride.

How do I delete my account and my data?

In the app: Profile ▸ Settings ▸ Delete account. Type DELETE and hold the button to confirm.

Deletion is immediate and can't be undone: your account, profile, rides and their telemetry, photos, garage, comments and likes, the expeditions you organised and the groups you created are deleted. Segments you created stay for the community, without your name.

If you can't access the app, email privacy@gettraza.com from your account's address and we'll delete it for you. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

The app closed and my ride wasn't saved. Can I get it back?

If you recorded it on this phone and haven't uninstalled the app, usually yes: Traza keeps saving the recording on your phone as you ride.

When you open the app again it offers to recover it. If you don't see that prompt, go to Profile ▸ Settings: "Unsaved rides" appears at the top when there are any (it's also in Settings ▸ Advanced ▸ Unsaved rides & repair). Tap "Recover": Traza rebuilds the ride and takes you to the publish step.

If it isn't there, the recording never reached your phone's storage and we can't recover it from the server. Write to us anyway and we'll take a look.

How do I report content or block someone?
  • A ride: on the ride, open the map's menu (···) and tap "Report".
  • A comment: swipe the comment left or long-press it, then tap "Report".
  • A user: on their profile, open the menu (···) and tap "Report user".
  • A group or an expedition: on its page, open the menu and tap "Report group" or "Report expedition".

Block: on that person's profile, open the menu (···) and tap "Block user". They stop seeing your content and can't interact with you, and you stop seeing theirs. You can undo it in Profile ▸ Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Blocked users.

On your own rides you can also delete other people's comments: swipe the comment or long-press it and tap "Delete".

We review reports within 24 hours. If you don't have an account or would rather write to us, send the link to the content to hello@gettraza.com. The rules are in the Terms of Use.

I found a bug. What should I send you?

Email hello@gettraza.com with:

  • what you were trying to do and what happened instead;
  • your iPhone model and iOS version;
  • your Traza version;
  • if you can, a screenshot or a screen recording.

Bugs we can reproduce get fixed sooner, but every clue helps.
